How Glow works

Glow makes the products in your images and videos shoppable. You upload a photo or a video, point at the things in it you want to sell, and attach a product to each one. On a video Glow follows each object through the shot; on a photo it is instant. Either way a viewer clicks the product where it actually is on screen instead of hunting for a link in your bio. It plays on your own site through an embed, or on your Glow page.

One kind of account does all of this. Some people use Glow to sell products they make, and some run a store and use Glow to sell from it. The setup is the same either way.

1. Upload a photo or a video. It goes into your studio. Nothing is public yet. Images are the quickest way in, you already have hundreds, and there is no tracking step to wait for.
2. Click an object in the frame. On a video, Glow tracks that object through the rest of the clip, roughly 30 to 60 seconds of processing per object. On an image there is nothing to track, so it is ready straight away.
3. Attach a product. Paste the product link, and Glow reads the title, price and image from the page. You can edit the title and price afterwards.
4. Publish. Publishing puts it on your Glow page and turns on every embed of it. Until you publish, only you can see it.
5. Embed it. The editor gives you a snippet like this:

   Paste it into any page you can edit the HTML of. Stretch an image embed behind your header and your landing page background becomes shoppable. The media plays and glows inside the frame, and when a viewer clicks a product the card opens right there. Your domain, your page, your layout.

When a viewer clicks a product, the card opens over the video and the video keeps playing. Clicking through from the card sends them to the product page you linked.

Your own link. Paste any product URL, including an affiliate link you already have. Glow sends the viewer there untouched and records the click. Sales on this route are reported by whoever runs that program, in their dashboard, not in Glow.

No cookie stuffing. Glow never drops an affiliate cookie on a viewer. The one cookie we set is our own, on intirn.com, and a cookie on our domain cannot be read at a store's checkout. A store's cookie is set when the viewer arrives at the store, and that only happens when somebody actually clicks. Link previews and browser prefetches still reach the right page, but they are never counted as a click and never handed a cookie.

Every click out carries its own id and the second it happened. You can export them from Analytics or read them through the API, so if a program ever asks where a commission came from, the record is there.

Every click out to a store goes through a Glow redirect, which records which video, which product, and the exact second of the video the viewer clicked. The funnel Glow can show you ends there, honestly: seen on screen, clicked in the frame, and clicked through to the store. What happens on the store's side after that is between the store and its own analytics.

• Sales. Glow records the click through to the store and nothing after it. If your link belongs to an affiliate program, that program reports your sales in its own dashboard.
• Glow shows views and clicks, not people. Nothing here is deduplicated per human.

Glow is free for creators. There is no monthly fee, no upload fee, and no charge on your links.

Your analytics show how many times a product was on screen, how many people clicked it in the frame, and how many of those went through to the store, per product, per video, per second of the timeline. Glow does not show predicted or estimated earnings anywhere.
